P.S. I Love You

Looking for a Romantic Comedy this holiday season? Well this ain't it. But, on the other hand, if you're looking for an honest portrayal of love and the pain of moving on, well you've got a winner here. The sense of loss that pervades the entire film is something we can all relate too. True, getting dumped might not be as bad as losing a husband, but it's a sympathetic pain we can all identify with.

But let's be honest. The real reason most of you guys will be seeing this movie has less to do with true love, and more to do with fangirl devotion. So, let me save you some frustration. The movie will start with a rather lengthy "standard couple fight" between Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler. Then you've got the opening credits to wait through. But, as soon as those fade away, there's our boy. Now, I was as excited as most at the thought of James Marsters on the big screen and, even prepared as I was, I still squealed with joy at the sight of him. And, like any true fangirl, I found myself staring at him whenever he was on screen, regardless of what else was going on. Sadly, he wasn't on enough, in my opinion. But, being a small role, I guess that's the most we can ask for.

That's not all this movie has to offer though. I know a lot of you are Supernatural fans so get ready for your fandoms to collide. Not only do we have Spike, larger than life, but we've also god Daddy Winchester, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. With an Irish Accent. And naked. Oh yeah, you read that right. Ever wanted to see John Winchester's ass? Well here's your chance to take a nice, long look. His role, too, was far too small in my opinion. I could have done with a bit more of him, thank you very much.

So, should you go see this movie? Probably. it's not a movie I'll be likely to view again, but at least it's well acted and well put together. But you don't have to go for the story. Go to support our boys and show the world, once more, that Whedon fans can make or make a break a film, so be nice to us!
